Although 75F does not have an application for controlling and maintaining internal boiler temperature, something boilers do very well by themselves. What 75F does do is use IOT to enable and disable boilers based on OAT, control the heat injection to maintain a consistent core loop temperature, and monitor/ alert on the loop temperature.
Boiler Enable
Using one of the dry contacts on the Smart Node we are able to create simple logic that enables the boiler if OAT is below say 45F and enable it when it is above 50F. This way not matter what extremes the environment throws you'll be saving energy as soon as it makes sense. More advanced logic for enabling and disabling boilers can be created, but our typical implementation uses OAT.
Hot Water Injection
75F controls the hot water injection valve using a Smart Node running the Hot Water Mixing profile. Using a 10k Ohm thermistor and a modulating analog valve, your loop will maintain a specified winter time temperature and you will be able to see remotely the loop temp trending data.
Loop Temperature Monitoring
Almost every boiler room I walk into has something in common. There is a clip board strung from the boiler with an equipment last checked sheet on it. Now I am not saying it's a bad idea to make frequent trips to check boiler status, but I am saying it should not be necessary. With the 75F temperature monitor you can receive text message or email notifications when your loop temperature breaches an upper or lower critical limit. In this way warning you that something is amiss and needs to be checked out.
